Continuing to confirm drivers for their 2024 campaign, Nitro Motorsports is pleased to confirm the signing of Las Vegas resident, Michele Abbate. A four-time SCCA Club Road Racing Champion, Abbate was a recipient of the 2023 Parella Motorsports Holdings Diversity Scholarship and will embark on a partial season of TA2 competition in the Trans-Am Series presented by Pirelli.
“I am honored to be returning to the Trans-Am TA2 series with the Nitro Motorsports team,” expressed Michele Abbate, who is a graduate of the University of Nevada – Las Vegas and the only female racing in the TA2 category. “My time with the team last year proved to be successful, and I know that the strengths and knowledge the team has will help further my success in the TA2 class. I am looking forward to making more progress in the #30 Ghost Energy Mustang and hope to raise more funding so we can compete in the full season in 2024.”
“Consistency leads to results, and we are happy to have Michele back in our program in 2024,” added Nick Tucker. “Coming into a new season, Michele will know what to expect regarding the team, the competition, and the overall program. I think this will be a big year of growth for her, and we are anxious to get started at our first event in just over one month.”
With the start of the 2024 Trans-Am Series presented by Pirelli taking the green flag next month, Abbate is hoping to kick her season off at Road Atlanta unless additional funding can be secured in advance of the opening round at Sebring.
